Congradulations to Miss Morgan Sides on winning the 1st Annual Dallas Reed Moncus Memorial True Grit Award!
The Chambers County Saddle Club has decided to give a special award to the youth member that best exhibits sportsmanship, horsemanship, determination & a positive, never give up attitude, despite the hardships and curves thrown their way; this was a very hard decision because our club has some amazing youth members.
The young lady chosen for this award shows these qualities at every show she attends. She is always smiling, & having fun doing what she loves. She always has a positive attitude & only has encouraging things to say to others. You can always hear her cheering on her friends and fellow contestants because she wants them to do their best.
This time last year, her horse became very sick and they didn’t think he was going to make it, much less run timed events again, but she never gave up on him. She attended almost every show as normal, cheering and yelling for her friends while she led her horse in the gate or walked and trotted him trough the pattern, until she was sure he was going to be okay to run again. Her determination & dedication took her to place at this year’s AOHA state horse show. I have had the great pleasure to work hands on with this young lady & her big bay horse & that is why it is a great honor to present the Chamber County Saddle Club True Grit award to Miss Morgan Sides.
